Woodbridge Soccer Club began life under the auspices of Kingborough Lions Soccer Club.
In 2001, it broke away from Kingborough Lions and became the Woodbridge Whalers Soccer Club catering to players aged 12 and under.
In 2004, as some of the original Junior players became teenagers, the club added youth teams to the line up.
In 2008 the Woodbridge Whalers Soccer Club changed its name to Woodbridge Soccer Club (although the junior teams are still known as Woodbridge Whalers)
Also in 2008 the club fielded its first ever senior team, a Division 4 men's team.
In 2010 Woodbridge Soccer Club added a Division 2 Women's team to it's line up.
